Privacy & your data

The short version

We record anonymous gameplay stats (runs, scores, upgrades picked, how long you play) to balance the game during the playtest.
You are identified only by a random ID created in your browser. No account, no email, no name required.
We never store your IP address. We keep a scrambled version of it (a salted hash) only to limit spam and count unique visitors.
Everything is deleted after 13 months at most.
You can turn stats off, and delete your data yourself on this page.
No ads, no selling data, no tracking you on other websites, no third-party analytics or advertising cookies.

"Delete my data" erases your stats and leaderboard entries linked to this ID, then gives this browser a fresh ID. "Clear everything" also removes your settings, local scores and initials from this browser.

1. Who is responsible

ODDSZILLA is made by Oddszilla, based in Tokyo, Japan (the "data controller"). Contact for anything privacy-related: team@oddszilla.xyz.

We apply the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to every player, wherever they live, and we also follow Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI).

2. What we collect, why, and for how long

Gameplay stats: your random player ID, a session ID per visit, what happens in the game (difficulty chosen, run start and end, score, size reached, upgrades picked, missions, pauses, quits), time played, frame rate and error messages. Device type, operating system, browser, language, screen size, country (worked out from your IP address by our host, not stored as an IP), the website or campaign link that brought you here, and a salted hash of your IP.	Balance the difficulty, find where players get stuck or quit, fix bugs, and measure the playtest (e.g. how many players come back).	Legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f)): improving the game. Shared leaderboard: your initials (3 characters), score, difficulty, size reached, missions completed, date, a salted hash of your IP and your player ID. Feedback form (only if you send it): your 1–5 ratings, your optional comment and optional name/tester ID, a summary of the run you just played and a random session ID. We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell or rent it, and we do not make automated decisions about you. Aggregated results (for example "players finish 60% of runs") may be shared with partners or investors. These are totals and never identify anyone.

3. What is stored in your browser

The game uses your browser's local storage (not cookies) for:

The player ID is used only to measure how this game is played. It is never combined with other data or shared with anyone for tracking, and you can switch it off at any time (above, or in the game under Settings → Share stats).

4. Who processes the data for us

Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the game and stores the stats and leaderboard database. To deliver the pages, Cloudflare processes your IP address in its network logs.
Google LLC stores the feedback form answers in a Google Sheet. (The game's fonts are hosted on our own site, so playing does not connect you to Google.)
cdnjs (run by Cloudflare) serves the 3D engine used by the game.

These providers may process data in the United States. Both Cloudflare and Google are certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, and their data-processing terms include the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, restrict how we use it, or object to it being used. The fastest way is the buttons above. You can also email team@oddszilla.xyz with your player ID (for feedback forms, tell us the name you entered and roughly when you sent it). We reply within one month.

If you think we are not handling your data properly, please tell us first. You can also complain to the data protection authority of the country where you live (for example the CNIL in France), or to Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission.

6. Age

ODDSZILLA is a cartoon action game made for players aged 15 and over. If you are younger, please ask a parent before sending the feedback form.

7. Changes

If we change what we collect, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change applies.
